Vela Pržina is located on the south side of Korcula Island, in Lumbarda. Korcula and Lumbarda are connected by a frequent bus service and the ride takes only 15 minutes. Pržina Beach is well protected from the north winds. It is suitable for families with small children and the elderly as the sea bed slopes very gently from the beach. On the beach you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas, and there is also a ground for beach volleyball. Right next to the beach there is a car park and a cafe that serves fast food.
Badija Island beaches
Badija Island is a popular destination for day trips. The isle of Badija is part of the Korcula Archipelago and is the largest among of the 20 islands. A taxi boat sails to Badija from Lumbarda and Korcula. You can also visit Badija via speedboat from the Lumbarda jetty. There is a beautiful monastery on the island which has been restored by Franciscan monks in the last century. There are a couple of good restaurants that are open during the summer months and a walking path all around the island. You can also find wild deer there that have become very tame.
The beach is rocky and pebbly and there is an abundance of natural vegetation that provides shade. It is a good place to snorkel from and a beautiful island to visit.
Korcula city beach
City beach in Korcula is only 200 meters from the old town. The beach is pebbly and there are several bars and restaurants. Given that this is a public beach, and that it is in the vicinity of several hotels you should expect large crowds, especially if you plan to arrive in the peak season. The facilities on the beach are: Small restaurant, lounge chairs and toilets.
Pupnatska luka is one of the most beautiful bays on the island. It is located on the south side of the island and is only 5 kilometers from the town of Punat. The bay is reached by a passable unpaved road. There is a partially landscaped area near the beach that is used as a parking lot. The beach is pebbly with a nice entrance to the sea and it is suitable for families with small children.
Vranac city beach – Vela Luka
The city beach Vranac was initially built back in 1924 and in 2012 it was completely renovated to be more attractive to tourists. The beach is pebbly and you can rent umbrellas and lounge chairs. The beach has a cafe and a restaurant.
Proizd Island beach
The isle Proizd is located near Vela Luka and due to the exceptional quality of the sea, Proizd was named “The best beach on the Croatian Adriatic” in 2007. The isle Proizd is about a half-hour boat ride from Vela Luka, but by a speedboat you can get there in a few minutes. The island has a small dock and a restaurant with a wide selection of Dalmatian cuisine. Proizd is surrounded by crystal clear waters and sandy beaches in rocky coves, and so if you want to get away from crowds and enjoy the beautiful crystal blue sea, then a trip to Proizd is a good choice.
