North-facing sandy beach with magnificent views across to Pelješac peninsula. Very shallow and smooth — perfect for paddling. A charming café-restaurant sits in a semi-ruined 15th-century bishop's castle right on the beach.

Prvi Žal

The central beach right in front of the resort. Water taxis depart from here to Korčula town and nearby islands. Kayak and jet-ski rentals, cocktail bar with live music on summer evenings. Crystal-clear water for swimming.

Tatinja

A small sandy beach right in the village centre, beloved by locals. The famous Pizzeria Torkul sits directly above with panoramic sea views. Quieter and more authentic than the main tourist beaches.

Raznjič

At the eastern tip of the island — crystal-clear water ideal for snorkelling. Stunning views of Mljet island and the Pelješac peninsula. No facilities, so bring your own supplies. Accessible by foot, bike or boat.

The wine of Lumbarda

Grk — the world's rarest white wine

Grk is a unique dry white wine grown exclusively in the sandy soil around Lumbarda — it cannot be cultivated successfully anywhere else in the world. The name itself comes from the Greek word for "Greek", a nod to the ancient Greek settlers who first planted vines here over 2,400 years ago.

There are fewer than 50 hectares of Grk vines on the entire island. The grape has only female flowers, so it must be planted alongside other varieties for pollination — making it exceptionally rare and precious.
